Dr. Elliott Millinor, DVM
Elliott is a native of Taylorsville, North Carolina. He grew up with a variety of livestock and other animals at Circle D where his mom and grandfather owned and operated a Western wear, tack, and feed store. Friday night rodeos at Circle D Arena were a staple of his childhood. Elliott played soccer throughout his years in school, many of which were coached by his dad at West Junior High School and Alexander Central High School. He also enjoyed kicking for the football team.
Elliott received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (History and Philosophy of Science) from Lenoir-Rhyne University. During his time at LR, Elliott was heavily involved in conservation biology and ecology research with a special interest in stream ecology and salamander population biology.
In 2017, Elliott moved to Arizona to pursue a PhD at Arizona State University’s Center for Biology and Society. Working directly with the Navajo Nation Department of Fish and Wildlife, his research focused on how tribal wildlife and agricultural officials used both traditional Navajo knowledge and Western science to develop policy to protect both wildlife populations and traditional forms of animal agriculture, specifically cattle and sheep ranching.
Elliott received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from University of Arizona as part of their inaugural class. He has a passion for large animal medicine, sustainable agriculture, and multi-use regenerative land management. In his spare time, he enjoys family time with his wife, Katelyn, and son, Miles. He also enjoys horseback riding, hiking, cooking, and working on the ranch.
